Mark R. Adelman, Ph.D.

Associate Professor of Anatomy, Physiology & Genetics
Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences

Throughout my professional career, administrative tasks have provided me with multiple, varied and rewarding challenges. In addition to serving as Course Director for various Medical and Graduate Student Courses (see Teaching), I have also served as Director of departmental Graduate programs, both at USUHS and at Duke.

From 1995 through early 2003, I was Director of the Biomedical Instrumentation Center (BIC) here at USUHS. You can learn more about the BIC from its website.

And, in keeping with my philosophy about the interrelationships of teaching, research, and administration, my research interests in motility as expressed by Physarum polycephalum have led me to serve the world-wide community of "Physarologists" by assuming the post of Editor of the Physarum Newsletter (PNL) as well as by establishing and maintaining our website PhysarumPlus.
