Display Demonstration Materials
In addition to the Loan Slide Collection (H-Series Slides) and the D-Series Slides, students have access to a number of special demonstration materials that are posted in the "common area" adjacent to the seven MDL teaching labs where students use Loan Microscopes to examine the glass microscope slides. Unfortunately, over the years, many of the special glass slides used to set up the microscope displays have been damaged or lost; but, in some cases, photomicrographs or 2x2 projection slides had been prepared as "back-ups". Another problem has been that students ocassionally move the fields on the display microscopes, causing lost staff time and increasing student frustration. We have therefore begun to place digital images of these display materials on the HistoWeb site. Some of these images were prepared by "scanning" existing prints and/or projection slides; others were captured directly from special demonstration glass slides as described in the H-Series Slides page. The following table provides hotlinks to the various "folders" of the Display Demonstration Materials file system.
